Find a Repair Shop
I need to expand this list but for now, these are the shops I can recommend in various locations around the US as well as for specific brands if you don't wish to wait over a year for me to work on your gear or it's something I don't work on.
Nakamichi
I don't even bother working on this stuff because Willy Hermann is the best in the business and has very good rates: https://www.willyhs.com/
California
Common Wave Hifi (LA)
Illinois
StereoRehab
Iowa
SkyLabs
Tennessee
Red Bank Vintage Audio
Washington State
Bellingham:
TechOne Electronics (Fong just does repairs, no restorations)
Seattle:
Gig Harbor Audio, Hawthorne Stereo, Turntables and Trails, Condor Electronics.
Everywhere else
You've got 3 options:
- Find a group on Facebook in your area for audio stuff and ask for tech recommendations.
- Google "Stereo Repair Shops Near Me" and call them to ask about repair availability and whether they can fix your gear. If they can't/won't ask them if they can recommend anyone. Lots of techs work from home and don't have websites.
- There is a Master List made by someone else with locations but I donât have any experience with them so do your due diligence to vet them.
